COVID-19 seems to have overtaken our lives, but to be sure, there is more in your control than you may think. When life returns to normal, or at the very least, to a new normal, college admissions counselors will start reading the next round of college applications and essays.
In thinking of ways to differentiate yourself DESPITE COVID-19, start by asking yourself a few questions, such as:
How much effort did I put into my virtual high school experience?
A possible answer: I worked hard and completed all work, even work that wasn’t graded. I feel proud of my accomplishments during quarantine and I will be ready for next year.
What did I do with all the extra fee time?
Possible answers:
I worked out
I did puzzles
I cooked for my family
I took a free online class
I did yoga online
I read that book I’ve been dying to read
I cleaned out the garage
I tried to learn a language
I explored fill in the blank on the internet
I worked on SAT/ACT prep
So, how do you feel about your answers? Are you doing what you can to help you get to where you want to be?
Stay healthy. Be positive. Practice gratitude.
